Excerpt from Chapter 1, Page 4, “ALL’S RIGHT WITH THE WORLD DEPARTMENT”
“For six years Mac met me at the same place after school and convoyed me home – a service he thought up himself. A boy doesn’t forget that sort of association.” – E. B. White
Mac was E. B. White’s dog. How moving is this! We can all relate to the love we have for our pets, and feel in return from them (horses, livestock, any created animal is a target!), evoking what we cannot adequately speak forth. How could we think that there is no Author of this Love? The Father’s unspoken love has touched us, whether we admit it or not.
From our earliest memories have we not loved an animal originating in God’s wild imagination of created wonder? It is natural for us to love; and to never want the bonds of that love to end. This is the beginning, just a little corner of the unconditional, agape love that the Father has for the Son and the Holy Spirit flowing eternally to each other. We are welcomed to jump into that eternal ring of love if we choose to. It seems that the Father knew we might need the help of an animal friend in this life to know that we are so loved, He designed them this way.
“Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came for whom we live; and there is but one
Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.”
-1 -Corinthians 8:6
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love
to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
